My name is Capree Hardy. I am a proud wife and the mother of six beautiful daughters, ranging in age from 2 to 21. Two of my daughters—ages 11 and 3—have been diagnosed with Level 3 Autism. My advocacy journey began when my 11-year-old was diagnosed at the age of 3, and it deepened further with our youngest daughter’s diagnosis in January 2025.
Navigating the special education system has not always been easy. I have faced many challenges in finding appropriate schools and supports for my children, which led me to become deeply knowledgeable about Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). I learned how to thoroughly review and understand IEPs, advocate for necessary changes, and confidently serve as my children’s voice during often lengthy and emotionally demanding meetings. Over time, I also learned how to mentally and emotionally prepare myself to show up strong, focused, and informed for each meeting.
Like many parents, I experienced a wide range of emotions following each diagnosis. However, above all else, I felt a strong calling to advocate—not only for my own children, but for other families navigating similar paths. Supporting families affected by autism and special needs has become both my passion and my mission.
I understand how overwhelming, isolating, and confusing this journey can feel. My goal is to walk alongside parents and caregivers, offering guidance, support, and reassurance.
Whether you are just beginning your journey or are years into it, please know this: you are not alone—and you do not have to navigate this path without support.
